Review: The Growing Giraffe – Healthy snacks for kids

Home » Review: The Growing Giraffe – Healthy snacks for kids

Those of you who’ve been following my blog and social media accounts for awhile, would know that I’m very conscious of not offering unhealthy food to my boys on a regular basis. My interest in nutrition started around the time I became a mother and it’s an area that I have been educating myself in and practicing what I am learning along the way.

That has included advocating homemade over store bought and striving hard to follow that with respect to our meals and tiffins. As much as I’d like to make everything from scratch, I’m not superhuman. I do need help from pre-packaged food or base ingredients. When it comes to snacks I bake ‘healthy’ cakes, cookies etc but there are days when I or the boys are not well or when I have other commitments or I’m just plain short on time. However, even in those scenarios I make it a point to rely on brands that I trust. Where the ingredients and final product don’t necessarily compromise on the nutrition aspect.

One such brand that I came across was @thegrowinggiraffe. Started by Rukmini Banerji, The Growing Giraffe makes snacks for infants, children and adults. After becoming a mother herself Rukmini realised the need for healthy, wholesome snacks for those families that didn’t have the time to make them on their own. Thus came the idea of the Growing Giraffe. They currently make several all natural, sweet and savoury snacks out of their own kitchen in Mumbai. Their products are completely devoid of refined sugar, refined flour and artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

Adhyant and Nirbhay had the opportunity to try out Multigrain Biscuits (which includes wheat flour, ragi, oats and jaggery) and Ragi Biscuit Stars (made with ragi, wholewheat flour and jaggery) from The Growing Giraffe. In their breakfast tiffin I always include a small snack alongside the main breakfast and I used these biscuits last week for that. You can hear the boys verdict on the biscuits – SWIPE LEFT for their review

A special treat for my followers –  you can order snacks from The Growing Giraffe from their website www.thegrowinggiraffe.com and use my coupon code TGG001 for a 20% discount on all orders over Rs 1000
