Review: FirstCry Intellikit – Education and fun rolled into one

Like most of their peers, Adhyant and Nirbhay are never short on toys. Unfortunately most of them don’t allow the boys to use their imagination or expand their knowledge. That’s why I was secretly thrilled when @raising_littlemahikaintroduced us to #FirstCryIntellikit. These monthly subscription boxes comprise of interactive learning activities and come in different themes based on the age level.

We received the World Traveller box that has been tailormade with activities for 4-6 year old kids. A & N love the idea of a new activity each day and they’d come rushing back from school all excited and gung ho about opening up a new packet and finding out what activity was in store for that day.

The Kit included 8 activities as well as a storybook and some worksheets all centered around the theme of travelling around the world. They’ve also supplied a month long calendar with a suggested break up of the activities and some additional ideas of things to do with your kids. While it is rather implausible to follow the calendar, what it does do is throw up some interesting possibilities.

Some of the boys’ favourite activities in the box included:

🌍The ‘Travel Sudoko’

🌍The ‘I Spy’ activity where they had to hunt for famous monuments on a world map

🌍The ‘Tangram Travels’ which is a geometrical puzzle activity that can be rearranged to make various shapes and figures

🌍The ‘Very First Flight’ activity where they had to unscramble flash cards depicting a plane journey and arrange them in the correct sequence.

Like most other subscription boxes, the FirstCry Intellikit has activities which would need not only parental guidance but also complete participation of the parent. So while this isn’t something that will keep your kids occupied while you get a breather, it does make for a good way to bond and do something fun with your child while they learn in the process as well.

FirstCry was kind enough to offer a special discount for my InstaFam. Just use the code ‘Jharna70OFF’ for a whopping 70% off on a @firstcryintellikit So if you were planning on ordering one for your child, now is the time.
